International college applications on the rise despite Trump’s order

According to a Wall Street Journal survey of 12 top schools for international enrollment, colleges have received more applications from foreign students this academic year than in the 2015-2016 school year.

This news comes as a surprise considering President Trump’s harsh actions toward foreigners. Nonetheless, colleges continue to offer support to foreign students and encourage diversity.

Although international enrollment is stable and even increasing, it is not yet certain what the fall will bring. Even if students enroll now, they might not be able – or want – to come after several months of Trump’s presidency.
