Promised loan money must better meet student needs

I would like to start my letter off by saying how much I truly love you, student loan. You are one of my lifelines and I am sure we will be together for years to come. So, why is it that when I need you most at the start of the semester, you still remain only a fantasy, continuously eluding me?

The powers that be have already signed you away to me, yet I will not physically get you into my hands until after classes have started. Student loan, I phoned financial aid on Jan. 8 and was informed that they were going to start sending you out on Jan. 9. Here I am on the Jan. 13 still dreaming of the day that I am able to get you into my hands.

I was informed that if I truly needed you prior to the first day of classes, the powers would slice me off a piece and put $500 onto a plus account. Somehow $500 in a plus account does not equal $500 in cold hard cash. It seems to limit my so-called ‘American’ free-market choices— Amazon does not accept plus accounts.

Direct deposit is an option available. Nevertheless, those choosing not to use direct deposit should not be forced to wait until after classes start before receiving what they are already legally obligated to repay. Student loan, I appreciate that you must pass through barriers of red-tape and signatures. So, all I ask is that tomorrow you are napping in my mailbox upon my return.
