ESPN article on Terrence Jones; UK to play Penn State; Lawson given extension

A couple quick notes from the day:

  • ESPN’s Andy Katz had a piece about Terrence Jones, and how he wanted to come back and emerge as a leader next year rather than become a late lottery pick. Going 13th in the draft, after all, was not what Jones dreams of.
  • Next season’s schedule is still coming together. UK will play Penn State at noon Saturday, Nov. 19, in Connecticut. UK will then play the winner of Old Dominion and South Florida the next day at noon. As part of the tournament, UK will host Marist College (Nov. 11) and Radford University (Nov. 23).
  • UK softball coach Rachel Lawson was given a five-year contract at a total figure of $727,500 ($145,500 per season). UK Softball, as you probably know, just finished its most successful season ever after making it to the NCAA Super Regional.
