Three-star Good Counsel (Md.) High School safety Kobie Walker committed to UK on Monday, he announced on Twitter.

“Proud to announce my commitment to The University of Kentucky,” Walker said on his Twitter account, @BeyyondBelief.

Walker is rated as the 36th best safety in the Class of 2014 by Rivals.

Wisconsin, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State,  Miami (Fla.) and Hawaii were among the other offers Walker received.

Walker visited UK during the weekend of the spring game, according to 24/7 Sports.

With Walker’s commitment, UK now has seven commitments in the Class of 2014.

Walker is the first player in the class that is not from Ohio or Kentucky.
