UK football picked up its fifth four-star recruit from the Class of 2014 on Thursday when Stanley “Boom” Williams, the No. 1 ranked all-purpose running back in the nation, committed to the Cats.
Williams visited campus on Thursday amidst internet chatter that a commitment was possible, before confirming his commitment to UK via his Twitter page.
“#BBN #Yahtzee!!!,” Williams said on his Twitter account, @boom_that_guy.
It is the first time in school history that UK football has received a commitment from the No. 1 ranked player at his position.
Williams’ commitment moves UK up to the No. 3 ranked recruiting class in all of college football, according to Rivals.
