U.S. News & World Report names UK Chandler top hospital in the state

On Tuesday, U.S. News & World Report named UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital the number one hospital in Kentucky as a part of the Best Hospital Rankings report.

U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital nationally in one adult specialty, Geriatrics, and rated high performing in six adult procedures and conditions: cancer, diabetes & endocrinology, nephrology, neurology & neurosurgery, orthopedics, and pulmonology.

“This acknowledges the exemplary work of our health care team in providing the highest quality patient care in the Commonwealth,” said Dr. Michael Karpf, UK executive vice president for health affairs, in a press release. “We are committed to being one of the premier academic medical centers in the country and dedicated in serving those who need complex medical care without ever having to travel far from their home.”

The top five hospitals in Kentucky were: 

1. UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital

2. Baptist Health Louisville

3. Baptist Health Lexington and St. Elizabeth Healthcare Edgewood-Covington Hospitals (tied)

5. Norton Hospital
