UK volleyball team will be in action Friday against No. 4 University of Florida and again on Sunday against the University of South Carolina.

“(We’ll) have to get ready for a lot of good athletes and a very good (Florida) team,” UK head coach Craig Skinner said. “They always do a nice job of putting the pressure on you with the things that they do.

The Cats have lost one set in their last six matches and are in the midst of a seven-game winning-streak.

UK’s last match resulted in a sweep against the University of Tennessee on Sunday.

The Cats registered a school-record 10 aces in the win over the Volunteers.

The Cats’ 4-0 SEC record is the best record to begin conference play that UK has had since 2009.

Florida is 15-1 on the season, never playing more than four sets in a match.

The Gators’ only loss came against No. 5 Penn State University in September.

“I know our team will take this week seriously to prepare so I’m not going to worry about our heart or our effort in practice,” Skinner said. “We just need to make sure we’re focused on the right things.”

South Carolina is 10-6 on the season and 2-2 in conference play, going 1-1 over the weekend against the Texas A&M University and the University of Arkansas.

The Cats have won the past three meetings against the Gamecocks and nine out of the past 10.

UK will play Florida at 7 p.m. in Gainesville, Fla., Friday before traveling to Columbia, S.C., to play South Carolina at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
