Kernel dropped the ball by not covering 9/11

I was surprised to see that there was practically no mention of Sept. 11, 2001, in the Kernel on Thursday or Friday. I picked up a Kernel on Thursday, sure that the front page would have some sort of story or remembrance article about the most tragic day in American history.

And yet all I found was a story about an artist who makes art out of dryer lint. I gave you all the benefit of the doubt, thinking surely you would have an article the next day. However, today’s top story was a cow giving birth to triplets.

All the attention you gave to Sept. 11 was a picture on the back page of the Army men who stood outside the Main Building yesterday and read the names of the victims throughout the day. I think it would have been nice if the Kernel would have given some more attention to the day that changed the face of America.

A lot of Americans have forgotten about Sept. 11 and the innocent people who died that day. I was hoping the Kernel wouldn’t allow UK students to forget, but it seems that you too have forgotten the importance of the day and its lasting affect on our country.
