In the midst of its longest losing streak of the season, the schedule for UK women’s tennis (12-9, 3-7 SEC)  does not get any easier.

The Cats host No. 18 Vanderbilt in Lexington on Friday.

A continuation of the Cats’ recent four-game losing streak could see UK slip down in the SEC standings.

If the Cats were to fall to 11th or below, they would have to play an extra game in the SEC tournament when the postseason arrives.

UK currently sits in a tie for 10th with Arkansas, with three matches left in the regular season.

UK has been led all season by true freshman Nadia Ravita, who is ranked No. 24 in the latest ITA singles rankings. Ravita is 17-4 on the year including 7-3 in SEC play.

Sophomore Stephanie Fox also owns a winning record in SEC contests with a record of 5-4.

Vanderbilt (12-9, 5-5 SEC) boasts the No. 18 doubles pairing in the country with the duo of freshman Courtney Colton and junior Lauren Mira.

Friday’s match with Vandy is slated to begin at noon at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
