Textbooks stolen on UK’s campus, police say

The UK Police Department said in crime bulletin that three campus offices were burglarized. 

At about 1:30 p.m., UKPD sent out an email to all of campus that said the following places had been burglarized: 

  • An office in Kastle Hall on June 3
  • An office in Kastle Hall on June 8
  • An office in Grehan Journalism building on July 11

UKPD said in the email all offices were unoccupied during the incidents and the burglar or burglars forced entry into the offices. Textbooks were stolen in each burglary.

UKPD offered the following tips to promote campus safety:

  • If you see something, say something. For emergencies call 911.
  • Report any suspicious activities in or around your building to UKPD.
  • Assess your office for vulnerabilities. Report any issues to your building manager. 
  • Lock all windows and doors while away. 
  • Make sure that all lights, door locks and window locks are in proper working order. 
  • Maintain a thorough record of your valuables and include: photographs, serial numbers, makes and models, etc.
