Kernel in Love

Bailey Vandiver

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and in an attempt to bring love to UK’s campus, the Kentucky Kernel is sponsoring “Kernel in Love,” a blind date service that will match UK students together.

Once two students are matched, they will enjoy a dinner at Puccini’s, courtesy of the Kernel.

The catch: The Kernel is coming with you.

A photographer will accompany each person going on the date throughout the entire date process, from getting ready to eating dinner to parting ways after the date. Each participant will also be asked to talk to a Kernel reporter before and after the date to share how it went.

The photos and interviews will then be printed in the Kernel’s newspaper and put online the week of Valentine’s Day.

Interested students should fill out the Google Form before Saturday, Jan. 26, at midnight. Kernel editors will make their matches and notify the chosen participants the following day. The dates will take place the week of Jan. 28.
