NBA superstar Lebron James flew into Lexington to tour UK’s basketball facilities on July 17. He and UK head coach John Calipari have a budding friendship.

Calipari and his staff had heard James was interested in a tour, so they set up a mock recruiting visit for the 2009 NBA MVP. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NBA Draft and never attended college.

James was given a tour of the Joe Craft Center and Memorial Coliseum. He met with current UK players, watched a pick-up game and shot around on the Craft Center court.
