Netflix announced on Wednesday that subscribers can now download movies and shows to watch offline.

The offline option is free with all Netflix subscriptions, but not all movies and series are available yet, including the new season of Gilmore Girls, Friends and New Girl.

The update comes more than a year after Amazon Prime introduced offline downloads for iOS and Android users.

Netflix held out on offline downloads because they felt it was a “short term fix for a bigger problem,” that problem being wireless internet availability.
