New York Times readers sponsor student subscriptions

The New York Times launched a program earlier this month that aims to give digital access to its content to students across the U.S.

The program operates on the donations of NYT readers, which have ranged from $4 to $20,000 and funded over 200,000 subscriptions for students in public schools.

The NYT has seen hundreds of thousands of new subscriptions since the presidential election, with their circulation now reaching over 3 million people through digital and print publications.
