For the second year in a row, Kentucky women’s basketball has had its point guard drafted as Tonie Morgan was selected as the No. 32 overall pick by the Chicago Sky in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
Morgan came to the Bluegrass this past season from Georgia Tech, joining the Cats as a part of the 2025 All-ACC Second Team and having already earning a spot on the 2025-26 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Preseason Top 20 Watch List.
Dubbed the “head of the snake” by South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, she anchored Kentucky’s offense with 13.8 PPG, 7.9 APG and 3.1 RPG, shooting 46.7% from the field over the course of 36 games.
She finished the 2025-26 season with the following accolades:

Morgan really started to attract attention, if not evident by the aforementioned recognitions, with her early January performance against LSU and Missouri. In Baton Rouge, the guard secured 24 points and 12 assists to pair with a game-winning 3-pointer to give the Cats the upset to open conference play.
Against Missouri, Morgan continued her offensive domination with 18 points and 14 assists, and from there, was unstoppable.
She finished as the program’s single-season program assist holder, a record previously held by Georgia Amoore with her 214 assists in only 25 games. For reference, Amoore, a 2025 first-round draft pick, broke that record with 213 assists through 31 games.
The guard finishes her collegiate career leading the nation in total assists with 286, and at No. 2 in the nation for APG with 7.9. She led the SEC in both regards, and sits at No. 22 in the SEC for PPG.
