The 5-foot-8 San Diego native is now the second confirmed returner for the 2026-27 season.
Kentucky women’s basketball guard Asia Boone will be staying in Lexington for her senior
season.
Boone’s announcement follows All-SEC First Team center Clara Strack’s decision to return for her senior season.
She served in a backup role earlier in the season, but as the season progressed took on a larger role.
In her first season with the Wildcats, Boone played in all 36 games and made 19 starts while averaging 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
Prior to transferring to Kentucky, the guard spent two seasons at Liberty, where she was a two-time All-Conference USA player.
She played and started in 67 games, combining for 683 points, 125 3s, 208 rebounds, 117 assists and 69 steals.
Also in Boone’s Wildcat season, the guard broke the single-season school record in made 3-pointers, before teammate and WNBA draft pick Amelia Hassett broke her record in the same game and continued to finish out the season holding that accomplishment.
Despite Hassett taking the school record with her 99 3-pointers, Booned finished the season second all-time in program history, second in the SEC and 11th in the nation with her 96 made on 263 attempts.
Boone became the first Kentucky player since at least the 2002-03 season to make five 3-pointers in a true road game against an AP top-five opponent, doing so against then-ranked No. 5 LSU.
She had 18 points in that win at LSU, falling just short of her season high 21 points.
The junior also had at least three assists in 19 games, made at least two steals in six games and led Kentucky in scoring four times.
With four Wildcats being drafted, BBN will be happy to see familiarity gracing the court in its returning shooting guard.
