The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for parts of Central Kentucky including Fayette County.
The warning, issued at 8:05 a.m. on June 22, goes until 11 a.m. Lexington, Nicholasville, Versailles and Paris may experience flash flooding.
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain have already created between 1 and 3 inches of rain across the affected area, and additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible.
At 8:59 a.m., the University of Kentucky issued an alert regarding flash flooding.
āMultiple areas on campus have high water,ā the alert said. āPlease avoid these campus areas. Avoid driving if possible.ā
The alert did not specify which areas of campus were affected.
