Kentucky STUNT (29-2) dominated in the Mid America West Conference Tournament to take its second straight conference tournament championship.
The Cats had a record-breaking tournament, tying the program record for wins in a season with 29 and setting a new program record with their 20th straight win.
The Wildcats kept the honors coming, with four Kentucky players earning All-Conference tournament awards.
Isabella Doria and Isabella Franzella were named first team all-conference, while Mackenzie Secrest was named to the second team.
Junior and Lexington native Abby Henderson received the Mid America Conference Most Inspirational Award.
Kentucky opened conference tournament action against Mercyhurst, a team that it beat 39-17 in the Bluegrass Classic earlier this season.
Against Mercyhurst, Kentucky took an early lead in the first quarter – partner stunts.
The Cats claimed a total of six points, while the Lakers responded with two points of their own.
In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky claimed a quick four points to none for Mercyhurst, giving the Wildcats a 10-2 lead at the half.
The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, saw the Wildcats take four more points to extend their lead to 14-3 heading into the final quarter.
To close out game one, Kentucky claimed 17 points in the team routine quarter, giving the Cats a 31-9 win.
The top scorers of the match were Kaylin Campbell, Isabella Franzella and Alyssa Arkava.
Kentucky kept that winning mentality heading into game two against Missouri State, where the Wildcats took the early lead in the first quarter by earning five points, with the Bears taking just one.
In the second quarter, the Cats earned six points compared to three for Missouri State, and in the third, Kentucky took eight points, while the Bears claimed four.
In the fourth and final quarter, Kentucky sealed its 35-12 victory over Missouri State when the Cats earned 16 points compared to the Bears’ four to conclude the game.
Top scorers of the match were Addison Crawford, Alyssa Arkava and Mackenzie Secrest.
In the championship game, Kentucky once again took on Missouri State.
The Cats mirrored their prior contest and took an early lead over the Bears in the first quarter, claiming four points compared to Missouri States’ single point in partner stunts.
In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, the Cats kept the points coming, adding another four points to extend to an 8-1 lead at the half.
In quarter three, jumps and tumbling, the Wildcats added five more points, while the Bears added just one.
In the final quarter, team routine, Kentucky effectively sealed its 20th straight win and its second straight Mid America Conference Tournament championship.
The Cats put up 14 points compared to four points for the Bears, sealing the 27-6 win for Kentucky.
Top scorers were Addison Crawford, Emma Green, Isabella Franzella and Mika Prather.
With the conference win, Kentucky will now prepare for its return to nationals.
The Cats have finished as national runner-up for the past three consecutive seasons in the College STUNT Nationals.
In last year’s national championship, Kentucky fell twice to the eventual national champion, California Baptist.
Earlier this season, the Lancers delivered the Wildcats one of their two losses of the season.
The Cats will look to take down the defending national champions and claim their first national title.
Kentucky is set to open championship action against Cal Poly on April 24 at 10 a.m. in Nashville.
