Kentucky senior linebacker Josh Allen is the recipient of yet another major award, this time the Chuck Bednarik Award for the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year, which was announced Thursday evening at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Atlanta.

This award joins Allen’s Bronko Nagurski Trophy for National Defensive Player of the Year and his SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the AP and SEC coaches honor. The senior is also a finalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has been named a first-team All American by The Athletic, Sports Illustrated and Walter Camp.

Allen now holds UK’s career sack and single-season records, with 28.5 and 14, respectively. He also is tied for UK’s career forced fumbles with 11, and leads the SEC in sacks, tackles for loss (18.5) and forced fumbles (five).
