Four members of Kentucky’s 2025-26 team were selected in the 2026 WNBA Draft, setting a program record for the most players taken in one draft.
Teonni Key, Tonie Morgan, Amelia Hassett and Jordan Obi all had their names called on draft night, meaning all four draft-eligible members of Kentucky’s initial starting-five were selected.
The previous record was set in 2017 when Evelyn Akhator and Makayla Epps were selected at No. 3 and No. 33, respectively. This is the only other season that Kentucky had multiple selections in the same draft.
This is also the second time that Kentucky has had players selected in back-to-back drafts, previously in 2013 and 2014.
Kentucky has now had 12 players selected to the WNBA. Five of those have come in the first two years of the Kenny Brooks era.
As if the first Sweet 16 finish in 10 years wasn’t enough, this further speaks to the level of talent Brooks is producing at Kentucky.
Key was selected by the Toronto Tempo with the 22nd overall pick.
Key battled through two different injuries in the 2025-26 season; she returned late in the regular season and played a vital role in the Wildcats Sweet 16 run.
The Tempo are one of two teams added by the WNBA’s expansion, making Key the team’s second-ever selection in the WNBA draft.
Key was Brooks’ first commit at Kentucky and was named as the team’s leader entering the 2025-26 season. Key has been integral in planting the roots of the Brooks era, and she now heads to Toronto to help the Tempo do the same.
Morgan was taken 32nd overall by the Chicago Sky, becoming the second Brooks-era point guard to be selected in two years.
Morgan set the program record with a nation-leading 286 assists in her one season at Kentucky.
She also earned a spot on the 2025-26 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Watch List after averaging 13.8 PPG, 3.1 RPG and 7.9 APG in her senior campaign.
Hassett went 35th to the Los Angeles Sparks. In two seasons at Kentucky, Hassett started in all 67 games – no player has been on the court more than Hassett in the Brooks era.
She averaged 9.6 PPG, 6.5 RPG and 1.7 APG in the 2025-26 season and set a program record with 99 3-pointers made, averaging 2.75 3-pointers per game.
Hassett’s skill set was incredibly important in forming Kentucky’s identity on both ends of the court.
Obi was selected 44th overall by the Las Vegas Aces, becoming the fourth and final Wildcat selected.
After a ruptured achilles kept her sidelined for the 2024-25 season, Obi made her Kentucky debut in the 2025-26 season.
Obi averaged 9 PPG and 6 RPG in her one season at Kentucky. She started the Wildcats first 25 games before moving to the bench as the sixth-man.
The 2025-26 National Champion, UCLA (6), was the only school to produce more players in the 2026 WNBA draft.
