Carroll, Dombrowski lead UK over No. 10 Vandy

Locked in a 1-1 tie, senior right fielder Sawyer Carroll’s two-out triple plated two runs, lifting the No. 17 UK baseball team to a 3-1 victory and securing a series win over No. 10 Vanderbilt in Nashville yesterday.

Senior pitcher Greg Dombrowski logged 7.1 innings for the Cats, allowing just one run on 11 hits for his fifth win of the season. With yesterday’s win, UK took two out of three from the Commodores. The Cats rebounded from a 3-2 loss Friday with a 6-2 win Saturday.

UK (33-11, 11-10 Southeastern Conference) earned its first SEC series win on the road and notched its second consecutive series win against a top 25 opponent. The Cats took two of three games at home against No. 24 Florida last weekend.
