Report: NBA Summer League canceled

The NBA Summer League has been canceled, another sign that the league is heading toward a lockout, according to a New York Daily News report.

The Summer League is an annual 10-day league in which most NBA teams send their rookies and young players to compete before the season starts. Last year, John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Daniel Orton and Patrick Patterson all played in the Summer League.

If the league is canceled, that would mean little to no opportunities to see UK rookies — should any players make the decision to go pro — in action over the summer. That means no highlight tapes like this (video courtesy of JaySongChang YouTube account):
