UK women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell’s team will play nine games on regional or national television this season, according to a Southeastern Conference announcement Thursday.

Four of the match-ups will be featured on ESPN networks.  The Cats will be featured in consecutive Big Monday ESPN2 match-ups, Feb.12 at Tennessee and Feb. 20 at home against Vanderbilt.  The game against Volunteers in Knoxville will be available in 3D.

The other two ESPN games will be on ESPNU.  Those telecasts will feature the Cats on the road against Notre Dame from the Big East on Dec. 18 as well as the road game in Starkville against Mississippi on Feb. 26.

Four other home games, Jan.8 vs. Mississippi State, Jan. 12 vs. Tennessee, Jan. 22 vs. Florida and Jan. 29 vs. Alabama,  are slated for regional coverage on Fox Sports Net or CSS.  CSS will also carry the UK Hoops team taking on Florida in Gainesville on Jan. 1.

“I know everybody is looking forward to some of the marquee matchups,” UK Hoops Head Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “For our team, we’ll just have to try to focus on getting better every day and take them as they come.”

Many of the games not announced as being televised will be available on ESPN3.com or on ESPN Full Court, according to a release today from the UK Athletics office. More game times and UK TV network information will be released at a later date.
