The UK baseball team flexed their offensive muscles on Saturday, tying the series with No. 1 LSU with an 8-1 win.

The Cats offense was led by freshman Austin Cousino, who went 2-5 with a three-run home run. UK starting pitcher, junior Jerad Grundy, went six innings, giving up one run on six hits.

The teams match up again Sunday in the rubber game of the series. The winner will most likely be the No. 1 team in the country on Monday.

UK will send sophomore Corey Littrell to the mound. Littrell leads the team with a 6-0 record and a 1.95 ERA.

First pitch is at 1 p.m. at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
