No. 14 UK gymnastics (3-1, 1-0 SEC) looks to continue its best ever start to a season Friday when it hosts No. 9 Arkansas (0-1).

UK will be looking to continue its recent change in fortunes against the Razorbacks in front of the home fans.

Prior to UK’s victory over the Razorbacks during last season’s SEC Championship, the Cats had lost 18 straight to Arkansas.

The Cats are averaging 195.325 through their first four meets of the season, and moved up from No. 25 to No. 14 in the latest rankings released this week.

Last Friday UK defeated Auburn 195.525-194.25 for its first SEC road win in more than 13 years.

Junior Kayla Hartley heads into UK’s first home contest of the season with an average of 9.875 in the floor exercise, good enough to put her in a tie for No. 17 in the ranking.

Fellow junior Audrey Harrison has also been in strong form for the Cats in the early going, earning a tie for No. 23 in the nation in the individual all-around event.

Harrison scored a season-high 39.2 in the win over Auburn and is averaging 39.125 so far this campaign.

Friday’s meet at Memorial Coliseum gets under way at 7 p.m.
