With one week to go until National Signing Day next Wednesday, there is still a lot of work to be done for UK head coach Mark Stoops and his staff as recruits edge toward deciding on their collegiate futures.

Three-star all-purpose back Jojo Kemp announced on Twitter on Monday that he would make his college choice known Friday.

According to Rivals, the Deland, Fla., native  is the 10th best all-purpose back in the country and the 64th best player overall in the state of Florida.

Kemp indicated his final choices are Pittsburgh, South Florida and West Virginia and UK. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound Kemp visited UK earlier in January.

Another recruit who took to Twitter to announce his commitment will come this week is three-star wide receiver Jeff Badet.

Although Badet gave no specific date for his announcement, the five-foot-11, 160-pound will reveal his decision sometime this week.

Orlando native Badet was scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend but publicly reavealed the cancelation of his trip, also via Twitter, giving no reason.

Among the schools being considered by Badet are Iowa State, Nebraska, UCLA, N.C. State, Wake Forest and UK.

One recruit who did not wait until the final days to announce his college choice is Pasco, Fla., three-star athlete Janarion Grant.

According to Rivals, 5-foot-9, 165-pound Grant was scheduled to visit Lexington this coming weekend, but has now chosen to attend Rutgers over UK and Houston.

Rivals ranks the native of Dade City, Fla., as the 69th best wide receiver in the country while Scout rates him as the 54th best cornerback in the nation.

Ryan Timmons of Franklin County still plans to announce his commitment Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. Steve Jones of The Courier-Journal reported Timmons would receive a host of in-home visits throughout the week.

The planned visitors to his Frankfort home will be UK offensive coordinator Neal Brown, Florida head coach Will Muschamp (along with wide receivers coach and former UK head coach, Joker Phillips), Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, Illinois head coach Tim Beckman and Missouri wide receivers coach Pat Washington (who coached the same position at UK last season).

Rivals reports that 5-foot-10, 186-pound Timmons is scheduled to visit Florida on an official visit this weekend.

Four-star inside linebacker James Hearns said after his official visit to Lexington last weekend that the Cats are at the top of his list of perspective schools.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Hearns, who de-committed from Florida last week, is due to recieve an in-home visit from UK before this week is over.

As of Tuesday, the Cats stand at 17 commitments in the 2013 recruiting class.
