Former UK basketball player DeAndre Liggins was arrested and jailed in Oklahoma City around 5 p.m. Saturday on charges of domestic abuse in the presence of a minor and assault with a dangerous weapon, said Lt. Arthur Gregory of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The victim, a woman, is likely Liggins’ girlfriend, Gregory said.

There are few details as to what occurred, but CNN.com reports that Liggins was being held in an Oklahoma City jail with bail set at $8,000.

Gregory said that Liggins bonded out of jail soon after being arrested.

Liggins currently plays guard for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. NewsOK.com, a news source out of Oklahoma City, reports that Oklahoma City Thunder officials are aware of the incident.

Liggins played one season under former UK head coach Billy Gillispie and two more for current coach John Calipari before electing to put his name in the 2011 NBA draft after three seasons at UK.

Liggins was a member of the 2010-11 UK team that made it to the NCAA Tournament Final Four in Houston, Texas.
