Red Bang Bang closed until possibly Monday after rodent reported in food

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department closed a local campus restaurant after an inspection following a complaint from a customer about their food. 

Red Bang Bang, located at 103 W. Maxwell St., closed on Tuesday and will be possibly reopen on Monday, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department said in a Facebook post. 

Earlier on Tuesday, a Michigan woman who is said she is the aunt of a Red Bang Bang customer claimed in a Facebook post her nephew had been eating takeout from the restaurant when he found a cooked rat. The post previously had a photo of the nephew’s food. 

On Monday, owner of Red Bang Bang, Cai Dong, said on the restaurant’s Facebook page the customer who reported the rat asked for $25,000.
