Basketball fans in the bluegrass are in for a treat this upcoming weekend.

On Friday, UK will host its annual “Big Blue Madness” event introducing their men and women’s basketball teams. On Saturday evening, however, four former Cats will return to Rupp Arena for an NBA preseason game between the Sacramento Kings and the Washington Wizards.

For the Kings, DeMarcus Cousins, Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere will be returning to their old college stomping ground while the Wizards will be represented by former Cat, John Wall.

This will be Cousins’ and Cauley-Stein’s second year in a row playing a NBA preseason game in Rupp Arena, as last year the Kings beat Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans 107-98. Cousins scored 19 points in that game.

Fans will also get a chance to see one of the newest members of the Kings, Labissiere. This will be Labissiere’s first time returning to Rupp since being drafted by the Kings this past summer.

The only former Wildcat on the Wizards roster is Wall, no. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

Over the summer, Wall had surgery on both of his knees after the conclusion of his season. Wall just made his preseason debut this past Monday against the New York Knicks, where he scored 8 points.

The game is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. at Rupp Arena on Saturday.
