Students attempt to steal a good grade

Two UK students’ plan seemed like a good idea for an easy A, until they got caught by the person they least wanted to see.

Two students at UK, biosystems engineering junior Henry Lynch II and sophomore Troy Kiphuth, attempted to steal a statistics exam from instructor John Cain late Tuesday night, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The Herald-Leader reported that Lynch told UK Police he climbed through the air vents in the Multidisciplinary Science Building to gain access to his instructor’s office. After dropping from the ceiling, he unlocked the door to let in his friend Kiphuth. Only Lynch was actually a student in the statistics class. Shortly after, Cain returned to his office.

The two students’ citations of third degree burglary will be referred to Fayette Circuit Court.
