Men of UK will be on the catwalk at Delta Zeta’s annual philanthropy event.

Delta Zeta is hosting the 18th annual Mr. UK Pageant to benefit the Starkey Hearing Foundation and The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center.

Nineteen contestants will participate in three categories to gain support from the audience and points from the judges. The categories are swimsuit, talent and question and answer.

Each contestant has a coach that has been helping them make sure that they are ready to go on the day of the pageant with their outfits, swimsuits, talents and charming personalities that will help them win big.

“It is so entertaining and funny and who doesn’t love to see boys get excited to be goofy and embarrass themselves on stage in front of a ton of people?” Delta Zeta sophomore Avery Cielinski said.

The contestants are Brack Duncan, Caleb Burch, Craig Shockley, Dane Thamann, Dylan Crawford, Elijah Miller, Jacob Wakeley, Jake Baltes, Jax Mays, Joel Shelton, Kyle Lindberg, Luke Fenwick, Marty Matson, Miller Young, Ross Boggess, Tate Wells, Thomas Crawford, Timmy Jolley and Dominic Adduci.

“We are so excited to see the boys and all that they have been working on over the last couple of weeks,” Cielinski said.

The top contestant will be crowned the next Mr. UK and become Delta Zeta’s Lad of the Lamp for the next year.

Both organizations that will benefit from Mr. UK provide hearing aids and medical attention to people in need with ear problems. The Starkey Hearing Foundation is Delta Zeta’s national philanthropy and The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center is its local charity.

The Mr. UK Pageant is on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased on Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delta Zeta house, or on the night of the pageant.
