Kentucky’s attorney general will join suit against the FCC if net neutrality rollback continues as planned, the AG’s office said in a Friday statement.

Andy Beshear, Kentucky’s attorney general, said he is “strongly opposed to the FCC’s changes to Net Neutrality.” His office is concerned the FCC reached their decision to repeal net neutrality in a fraudulent manner.

“Earlier this week, I asked the FCC to delay any rollbacks given my concerns over fraud in the public comments process on how any changes would affect the everyday lives of Kentuckians,” the statement read.

A letter addressed to FCC chairman Ajit Pai and signed by multiple state attorney generals alleges that there was fraud during the public comments section of the net neutrality decision.

Beshear could join the uproar of Democratic state attorney generals, led by New York AG Eric Schneiderman, who say that they will file suit against the FCC.

Beshear’s full statement:

“I’m strongly opposed to the FCC’s changes to Net Neutrality. Earlier this week, I asked the FCC to delay any rollbacks given my concerns over fraud in the public comments process on how any changes would affect the everyday lives of Kentuckians. My office has already received multiple complaints by Kentuckians, as well as from consumers who previously lived in Kentucky, saying their identity or a loved one’s identity was falsely used. If the FCC continues with its plan, I will have no choice but to join legal action to protect Kentucky families from this sweeping and harmful policy change.”
