It was announced earlier on Tuesday that sophomore forward Tai Wynyard was suspended until further notice for violating team rules. After Kentucky lost to Tennessee, John Calipari commented on Wynyard’s suspension with no further updates.

“He violated team rules, he is out because of a back but he’s now suspended because of violating team rules,” Calipari said. “That’s all I’ll say.”

Before tipoff, a report from the Louisville Courier-Journal said that Wynyard attended parties with a personal armed security guard. Wynyard previously did not play because of a back injury, but the suspension is what held the sophomore out of Tuesday’s game.

Calipari offered no timetable for Wynyard’s return. The sophomore from New Zealand wasn’t seen in Rupp Arena during Tuesday’s game against Tennessee.
