After nearly two years without a dean, the College of Engineering will be filling the position soon.

Rudolph G. Buchheit, who currently serves as the associate dean for academic affairs and administration of the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University, has been selected as the next dean— pending Board of Trustee approval, a UKNow report said.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining the faculty, staff and students in the College of Engineering. I look forward to the opportunity to grow and further strengthen the college’s academic programs and research impact for the benefit of the college’s stakeholders, the university and the Commonwealth,” Buchheit told UKNow.

Buchheit step into his new role at UK on July 1, replacing interim dean Lawrence Holloway, who has served since July 2016.
