Corbin Harris, a 19-year-old UK student who has been in a coma since falling from the third-floor balcony of The Lex apartment building in August, is reportedly improved in health.

According to Harris’ father, State Representative Christopher Harris, he began responding to commands. Chris posted the news on Facebook at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Corbin had fallen from a third-floor balcony at The Lex apartments where he lives. He suffered head injuries and has been in a coma at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital for the last 33 days.

Though it is unknown what kind of lasting affects these injuries may have on Corbin, Chris and the rest of the family are hopeful for his recovery.

“While he still has a very long and uncertain road ahead, today marks the clearing of a huge hurdle in that he is able to process a command and act on it,” Chris said in his Oct. 2 Facebook post.
