Former UK cheerleader Jahmir “Hero” Scott died Tuesday, according to a tweet from the team.

NJ.com reports that Scott, 22, got out of his car shortly after midnight on the New Jersey Turnpike after it had become disabled. He was then struck and killed by two tractor-trailers and a car, authorities said.

The drivers of those vehicles are said to be cooperating with state police, according to NJ.com.

“We will miss his smile, broadway singing, and determined attitude. Our thoughts & prayers go out to his friends and family in this sad time. Once a wildcat, always a wildcat,” read a tweet from the Kentucky Cheer team.

Scott was listed on the cheer team’s roster for the past two years, UK Athletics spokesperson Guy Ramsey told the Kernel. Scott was an active member of the cheer team during his entire career at UK. He was also listed on Syracuse University’s cheer team during the 2015-16 school year.
