The Kentucky baseball team is set to face the Ole Miss Rebels in a three-game series, beginning Friday evening. This series will close out an eight-game road trip when the Wildcats will travel to Oxford, Mississippi. The Wildcats are hoping to start a winning streak after a win against Lipscomb on Wednesday.

The Wildcats are currently 18-15 overall and 2-10 in SEC play. Ole Miss is 24-10 overall and 8-4 in SEC play. Since the two teams did not meet last year, their last meeting was in the 2017 season. UK won the series 2-1.

The Wildcats’ Jimmy Ramsey is going to be the starting pitcher Friday, and Zack Thompson will get the start on Saturday. Sunday’s starting pitcher is still undecided at the time.  During the teams’ last meeting, current designed hitter junior T.J. Collett earned his first career hit. Both Collett and Marshall are the only players that competed against Ole Miss in 2017. Through their road games this season, the Wildcats are 5-9 in opposing stadiums.

Ole Miss will start Will Ethridge Friday and Doug Nikhazy will follow on Saturday. The starter is still undecided for their final game on Sunday. The Rebels are on a four-game winning streak. Tyler Keenan has touched base in 16 consecutive games. Keenan leads the SEC in RBI with 49. Cole Zabowski added to his hitting streak, which is now up to eight consecutive games. Grae Kessinger has also been on base for 22 straight games and continues to add to his game hitting streak (nine games).

The Wildcats and the Rebels are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Swayze Field. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
