The No. 21 women’s tennis team continued its hot road play with a 4-1 victory over No. 60 Missouri on Sunday afternoon. UK completed its first perfect weekend of the season to move to 16-7, 5-6 in the SEC. Missouri falls to 15-10 on the season and a staggering 2-9 in SEC play.

Both Cats pairings piled up the first two wins in doubles play to clinch the first point of the match.

On court one, No. 2 ranked Cats duo Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi won convincingly over Tiger pairing Bea Machado Santos and Brianna Lashway 6-1. To clinch the match, No. 82 Nadia Ravita and Justina Mikulskytė of UK defeated Clare Raley and Kelli Hine 6-3.

In singles play, the Cats built momentum as Ravita quickly took down the Tigers Lashway 6-2, 6-1. Avoiding the shut out, Missouri’s No. 60 Machado Santos defeated No. 56 Mikulskytė of UK 6-3, 6-3.

UK then tallied back-to-back points to clinch the match. On court four, Akvilė Paražinskaitė defeated Lashway with a convincing score of 6-2, 6-4.

To complete the win for UK, No. 53 Sutjiadi won over LSU’s Hine in extra sets 6-3, 6-7, 6-4.

The Cats will finish their SEC play next weekend with two home matches against No. 56 Alabama and No. 13 Auburn. UK will take on the Crimson Tide on Friday, April 15 at 6 p.m.

The Cats will then face the Tigers on Sunday, April 17 at 12:00 p.m. Before Sunday’s match, UK will honor their three seniors: Kate Lanier, Kirsten Lewis, and Ravita.
