With finals and Christmas coming so fast, it is almost impossible to find time to relax and get your Christmas presents together. The Pinterest Party hosted by the Student Activities Board found a way to accomplish both.

The Pinterest Party was Nov. 30 from 6-9 p.m. in the Hub at the William T. Young Library. It included crafts that students were welcome to come paint, glue, “glitterize” or do anything they desired, whether it was for Christmas or not.

The craft supplies consisted of mugs, different types of canvases, ornaments and mason jars that students could decorate. There was also complimentary fruit, cookies, brownies and hot cocoa for those who attended.

“This has been going on for 3 years and it’s been a success ever since, and is just a good way for students to relax and get everyone together,” Director of Campus Life and accounting major, Miranda Scott said.

These Pinterest Parties usually happen twice a semester, and SAB plans for there to be two events next semester, as well.

“We planned this one to be close to finals week because it’s relaxing and people always talk about how nice it is when they leave,” Scott said.

There will also be a Pinterest Party station at Crunch Bunch on Monday, Dec. 12, which will be from 8-11 p.m.

“I’m a huge crafter and I love the holidays, so I figured to I’d try it out,” biology pre-med student Annie Abell said.

All students are welcome to come join at any time of the party and can stay as long as they please. The next Pinterest Party is scheduled for Feb. 8.
