The holidays in Chicago are a magical place filled with holiday cheer and many festivities. It’s easy to get in the holiday spirit with these top four activities offered in the city. Bundle up and consider spending your next Christmas in Chicago!

  1. Ice skating
Right behind the Bean and surrounded by the tall skyscrapers, the skating rink in Millennium Park offers amazing views of Chicago’s skyline. Don’t forget to take pictures in front of the huge Christmas tree located next to the rink!

  1. BomboBar
The perfect way to end your day of ice skating is treating yourself to BomboBar’s hot chocolate. These are not ordinary hot chocolates, but instead called ‘hotter hot chocolates.’ Choose between the s’mores, funfetti, or peppermint flavors. Each hot chocolate looks like a piece of art topped with whipped cream and served with a donut.

  1. Christkindlmarket
Wander through the Christkindlmarket for a taste of German and European inspired Christmas markets. Daley Plaza is filled with red and white striped booths selling all sorts of holiday treats. Vendors sell traditional German handicrafts including nutcrackers and cuckoo clocks as well as ornaments, jewelry, and much more. The Christkindlmarket also offers a variety of sweet and savory foods to satisfy your Christmas cravings like chimney cakes, sausages, and potato pancakes.

You cannot leave the Christkindlmarket without getting one of the souvenir Christmas cups! These cups come with a purchase of any drink option whether hot chocolate or mulled wine. Many people carry these cups around the market and vendors sell them at almost every corner. The best time to go to the Christkindlmarket market is during the week to avoid the weekend crowds.

Tip: Many vendors sell the same souvenirs, but the length of their lines vary. Don’t settle for the first booth you see even if it has what you’re looking for.

  1. Magnificent Mile
Stroll along the Magnificent Mile for some Christmas shopping and posh restaurants. The classic attraction is even better among snow and Christmas lights!

Christmas looks good on Chicago!
