No. 2 Kentucky volleyball (19-2, 12-0 SEC) took down Missouri (16-9, 7-6 SEC) 3-1 (25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20).
Freshman Trinity Ward turned out the lights on the Tigers. With a highly contested fourth set, Ward recorded four winning-point serves, including an ace, and sealed the match for the Wildcats.
Brooklyn DeLeye and Eva Hudson continue to be an unstoppable combo. Hudson, with 21 kills and 11 digs, remains dominant for the Wildcats, recording her sixth double-double of the season on a .487 hitting percentage.
DeLeye with 20 kills on .306 hitting and nine digs, DeLeye remains a major force in the Wildcats’ offense.
Kentucky came out strong and never stopped, hitting .331 for the match with 60 kills on only 16 errors. The Wildcats’ offense flowed through freshman setter Kassie O’Brien, who recorded 46 assists.
O’Brien and Lizzie Carr were the driving force for the Wildcats’ defense, with O’Brien recording seven blocks and Carr recording eight. With 16 digs from Molly Tuozzo, she held the Tigers to .237 hitting.
The Tigers taking the second set ended the Wildcats’ 10-0 unbeaten set streak, nevertheless, with the win, Kentucky caps off a perfect 7-0 road record in SEC play.
