No. 3 Kentucky volleyball (18-2, 11-0 SEC) silenced No. 2 Texas (18-2, 10-2 SEC) in straight sets (25–14, 28–26, 27–25).
Two of the SEC’s most explosive hitters, Brooklyn DeLeye and Eva Hudson, performed like seasoned pros on a mission.
Hudson hit an incredible .452 with just one error, leading all players with 20 kills and adding 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
With 18 kills on .417 hitting and nine digs, DeLeye trailed closely behind and hammered home clutch swings in the second and third sets.
The Wildcats came out strong, hitting .571 in the first set. The team’s offense flowed through setter Kassie O’Brien, who dished out 13 assists in the opening frame.
With just 11 attack errors on 116 swings, Kentucky’s team average was.448. O’Brien led the defense with 11 digs, and Kennedy Washington contributed six kills and two blocks.
Long before the Austin showdown, Kentucky was on the rise. Earlier in the season, the Wildcats put on strong performances against Florida and Texas A&M to set the stage for the pivotal game, and they have now won 15 straight games.
The victory made Kentucky the first team to sweep the Longhorns inside Gregory Gym since Stanford in 2023.
