Kentucky women’s basketball is 3-0 in to start its second season under Kenny Brooks as it looks to continue rising in the SEC.
This year’s team of 12 is made up of transfers, returnees and some brand-new freshman faces. Let’s take a look at the team you’ll be seeing this season:
TRANSFERS
#5 – Tonie Morgan
Hometown: Tallahassee, Fla.
Height: 5-9
Position: Guard
Class: Senior
Former school: Georgia Tech
The three-time, All-Conference athlete spent three seasons as a Yellow Jacket, combining for 1,261 points, 543 rebounds, 468 assists and 116 steals. Morgan brings versatility to Kentucky’s game, and will be an integral transfer, being one of only two Wildcat guards that are in their senior year or above. Fans should expect to see Morgan be a key piece in decision-making offensively.
#8 – Asia Boone
Hometown: San Diego, Calif.
Height: 5-8
Position: Guard
Class: Junior
Former school: Liberty
In her second year at Liberty, the guard landed herself in the Flames’ top-10 career list in 3s with 125. Boone started in 67 games, combining for 683 points, 208 rebounds, 117 assists and 69 steals. During the 2024-25 season she helped lead the Flames to a 26-7 record, finishing 16-2 in conference play and 13-1 at home. The transfer has an eye for the net, averaging about 11.3 points-per-game (PPG), and will be crucial in offensive play.
#33 – Josie Gilvin
Hometown: Louisville, Ky.
Height: 6-0
Position: Guard
Class: Senior
Former school: Western Kentucky
Josie Gilvin started all 32 games for the Hilltoppers in the 2024-25 season, averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Overall, during the season, she put up more than 10 points 20 times and 20 points six times. During her time at Sacred Heart, she was named All-State First Team as a junior (2021) and as a senior (2022), she was also named the 7th Region Player of the Year.
RETURNERS
#0 – Jordan Obi
Hometown: Hartford, Conn.
Height: 6-1
Position: Guard
Class: Graduate Student
Starting her collegiate career at Pennsylvania from 2021-24, Obi will take the court in Kentucky blue after missing the 2024-25 season due to injury. Prior to transferring to the Wildcats for her fifth year of eligibility, Obi averaged 13.7 PPG, 7.6 rebounds-per-game (RPG), 1.9 APG, 1.0 blocks per game and 0.9 steals per game (SPG) during her total time at Pennsylvania. The guard was the 25th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points and was the seventh fastest to hit the mark in only 74 games.
#4 – Lexi Blue
Hometown: Orlando, Fla.
Height: 6-2
Position: Guard
Class: Sophomore
As Kentucky’s highest-ranked incoming freshman at the time of her signing since five-star guard Treasure Hunt in 2020, Blue made an impression on the court during her first career season. The sophomore played in 23 out of 31 total games in the 2024-25 season. Within the 9.2 average minutes she saw of the court per game, she totaled 37 points, 32 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals. Prior to college play, the unanimous four-star guard shot 50.2% from the field her senior year and totaled 1,360 points.
#7 – Teonni Key
Hometown: Cary, N.C.
Height: 6-5
Position: Forward
Class: Senior
The 6-foot-4 forward that played last season was a completely different version of Key that began her collegiate career at North Carolina. After suffering an ACL injury in her first year and only playing in 23 games as a Tar Heel, Key transferred and saw action in 31 games as a Wildcat. During the 2024-25 season, Key more than quadrupled her PPG from 2.5 to 11.4, and more than tripled her RPG from 2.5 to 8.3. Key also averaged 1.7 blocks-per-game, which landed her fifth in the league in blocks and third in program history. Key led the team in points twice, rebounds 13 times, steals nine times and blocks seven times. The stark improvement last season is proof enough that Key will put up an even better season.
#11 – Gabby Brooks
Hometown: Harrisonburg, Va.
Height: 5-10
Position: Guard
Class: Junior
Starting her second season alongside her father, Brooks will be looking to see more of the court this year. After redshirting her first year at Virginia Tech and seeing limited time last season, Brooks still lacks in experience but look for the guard to start showing her potential as a component in the rotation defensively.
#12 – Dominika Paurová
Hometown: Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic
Height: 6-1
Position: Guard
Class: Redshirt sophomore
Paurová played one season at Oregon State in the 2023-24 season. Paurová signed with Kentucky back during the summer of June 2024, but she suffered a lower-leg injury that took her out during the 2024-25 season. The 6-foot-1 guard had a great first season at Oregon State where she played in all 35 games and played in all four games of the Beavers’ NCAA Tournament Elite Eight run. Paurová scored a career-high 17 points in the NCAA Tournament round of 64 against Eastern Michigan.

#13 – Clara Strack
Hometown: Buffalo, N.Y.
Height: 6-5
Position: Center
Class: Junior
Strack came down to Blacksburg, Va. as the 95th-ranked recruit in the class of 2023. After following Brooks to Kentucky from Virginia Tech, Strack set Kentucky’s single-game school record with eight blocks against Ole Miss on Feb. 10. Strack also set the school record for best single-game field-goal percentage, after going 11-11 in a win against Tennessee on Feb. 27. Strack was the only NCAA Division I women’s player of the season to record 25 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, eight blocks, five steals and three 3-pointers in a game. She became the only SEC player since 2002-03 and the first NCAA Division I player since 2009-10 to record 429 points, 266 rebounds, 76 assists, 70 blocks and 20 steals in the regular season.
#32 – Amelia Hassett
Hometown: Albury, New South Wales, Australia
Height: 6-4
Position: Forward
Class: Senior
Hassett spent the first two seasons of her college career at Eastern Florida, where she played in 67 games, where she made 65 starts, averaged 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.4 steals per game. At Eastern Florida, she scored 919 points and grabbed 659 rebounds. She set three single-game school records in 2023-24 and became the fourth player at Eastern Florida to be an NJCAA Division I All-America. Coming to Kentucky, she started in all 31 games, averaging 8.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. Her 39 blocks ranked eighth in the league and she ranked 11th in the league with 244 rebounds.
Newbies
#15 – Elsa Vadfors
Hometown: Hudiksvall, Sweden
Height: 6-5
Position: Center
Class: Freshman
Vadfors just recently signed with the Wildcats as she played for Uppsala Basket, which is a Swedish Club team where she averaged 1.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 18 games she played in that season. She also played for Sweden’s 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket team, averaging 1.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
#20 – Kaelyn Carroll
Hometown: Dedham, Mass.
Height: 6-3
Position: Forward
Class: Freshman
Carroll is ranked as the 15th best player in the nation, according to ESPNW. Carroll was named the 2025 McDonald’s All-American for the class of 2025. She was also named to the All-Independent School League First Team after averaging 13.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game during the 2023-24 season.
