As the No. 3 Kentucky volleyball (14-2, 5-0 SEC) concluded its three-game road trip with a win against LSU (9-8, 2-4 SEC) in Baton Rouge as it continued to play with poise and determination with a three-set sweep.
With the win, Kentucky extended its winning streak to nine-straight matches.
The Wildcats have been booming when away from their home in Historic Memorial Coliseum, now 5-0 in true road matches.
While neutral-site contests have been challenging (1-2 record), Kentucky has adapted and grown the ability to perform well on the road. Demonstrations of limiting distractions, balance and experience have helped them reach the No. 3 ranking nationally.
Kentucky’s win over LSU came from a mix of balanced offense and consistent defense. Multiple players put points on the board, while strong blocking and serving helped control momentum in major stretches.
When it came to scoring, the Wildcats took the first set 25-22 before winning the second set 25-18 and finishing out the sweep 25-13 in the third set.
Switching to individual performances in the match, Brooklyn DeLeye had 20 kills and a hitting percentage of .326, Kassie O’Brien finished with 40 assists and Molly Tuozzo accumulated 40 digs.
The win keeps Kentucky at the top two of the SEC standings right behind Texas.
