Christian Stefanopoulos became the new UK Hoops assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on Thursday, according to a UK Athletics press release.

Stefanopoulos first worked under head coach Matthew Mitchell at Morehead State as a graduate assistant in 2006-07.

“Christian has worked tirelessly to prepare for this opportunity,” Mitchell said in the release. “Her passion for Kentucky and for helping others is invaluable because she’s totally motivated by wanting to see those around her get better. She has a unique combination of passion, energy and work ethic. She will make an impact on our program through recruiting and player development as she is incredibly talented in both of those areas.”

Having spent the past two years in the same position at Bucknell, Stefanopoulos brings her experience working with guards to UK. She assisted with the largest turnaround in Bucknell women’s basketball history, helping the Bison to a winning record in 2013-14 after Bucknell won five games in 2011-12.
