Rod Strickland will join Orlando Antigua at USF, CBS Sports reports

Men’s basketball assistant coach Rod Strickland will leave UK to become an assistant coach under Orlando Antigua at South Florida, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported.

Spokesmen from USF and UK both said that they could not confirm any move.

Strickland had been working with head coach John Calipari in an administrative role since 2006 when Calipari was at Memphis. Strickland moved with Calipari to UK and became an assistant coach before this season for the first time in his coaching career.

He follows Antigua, an assistant coach at UK from 2009-2014, to USF after Antigua became its head coach on March 31.

Strickland’s departure now leaves two holes in Calipari’s coaching staff for next season. The Cats won one national championship and appeared in three Final Fours with the pair on staff.
