On the brink of the Harrison Twins’ news about their upcoming decision to end their recruitment on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m., UK commitment Derek Willis weighed in on what he thought.

Willis, the lone commit in the 2013 class for UK, may soon be accompanied by a few five-star recruits.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Mt. Washington, Ky., pledged to play for UK head coach John Calipari and the rest of the coaching staff on Jan. 20, 2012.

In a previous interview with the Kernel, Willis seemed confident that the Twins’ would wind up in Lexington next fall.

“The Harrison twins, I think, are a definite for sure,” Willis said.

On Monday he gave some insight about the James Young sweepstakes that seems to be winding down.

Willis said he thinks the top-10 talent is a lock to join him at UK, regardless of the Harrison Twins’ big decision on Thursday.

With top recruits from the 2014 class JaQuan Lyle and Cliff Alexander self-reporting that they will be attending UKs Big Blue Madness via their twitter, the line up for recruits on Friday, Oct. 12 is starting to come together.

Derek Willis will be one name on the star-studded list, as he will be taking his official visit to UK that weekend.

“Oh yeah, that’s when I am taking my official visit I think.” Willis said. “My Dad and Coach (Antigua) talked about it.”

One thing is for sure: by the time Big Blue Madness rolls around, Cats fans will have a much better idea of how the 2013 class will shape up.
