Former UK men’s basketball head coach Billy Gillispie resigned Thursday from the same position at Texas Tech, according to a press release from the school.
Gillispie, who has been battling health issues and accusations of poor treatment of players, cited health concerns for his resignation.
“Billy has decided to focus on his health, and we wish him a full recovery,”said Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt in the release. “Billy’s decision allows him to concentrate on his well-being and allows us to turn our attention to preparations for the upcoming season.”
