UK student assaulted on campus

Another UK Crime Bulletin was issued at 1:40 p.m. Saturday following an assault on campus.

According to the bulletin, on Saturday at 3:20 a.m. an assault occurred behind the Kappa Sigma Fraternity house near 460 Hilltop Ave.

The victim was a male UK student. He was struck in the back of the head and face. He was then chased towards the Kirwin-Blanding Complex. The three unknown suspects then fled towards Hilltop Avenue.

The suspects were last seen leaving the scene in a blue vehicle.

One suspect was described as a thin black male, 18-20 years old, 5’8” and wearing all black.

A second suspect was described as a thin black male with short hair, 18-20 years old, 6’2” wearing a yellow shirt, black pants and shoes.

The third suspect is described as a thin white male, around 6’2” wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.

This is the fourth incident to occur on or around campus in the month of August involving UK students.

The most recent was on Aug. 22, on Complex Drive near the Johnson Student Recreation Center.

A female student had her cellphone taken while walking down the street.

According to the crime bulletin emailed out, UK Police advises students to be aware of their surroundings, to walk with friends and make use of the SAFECATS program.
