Former UK defensive end Jeremy Jarmon was selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round of the NFL supplemental draft on July 16.

“I just spoke with Jeremy and I’m very excited for him,” UK head coach Rich Brooks said in a statement. “It’s a great thing for him to be selected that high in the supplemental draft. Washington is one of the teams that brought him in for a workout and personal interview. Obviously, they saw the same things in him that we saw at UK.”

With the selection, Jarmon becomes the ninth player from the 2008 squad to have the chance to play in the NFL.
